Only use music you own or have the rights to.

Good to know

Loud parts show as tall bars. In most songs the chorus is the longest stretch of tall bars, which makes it easy to find for a ringtone.

Questions

How long can an iPhone ringtone be?

Up to 40 seconds (text and alert tones up to 30). The cutter won't save a longer ringtone, so it always installs.

How do I put the ringtone on my iPhone?

Connect the iPhone and drag the .m4r file onto it in Finder (Mac) or iTunes (Windows). It then shows up in Settings, Sounds & Haptics, Ringtone. On Android, save an MP3 instead.

Can I cut the sound of a video?

Yes: drop the video and cut its sound like any audio file. To keep the whole soundtrack, use extract audio instead.

What quality is the MP3?

192 kbps, which most people can't tell from the original. WAV is uncompressed, for editing.
