Split subtitles into clips
You have one SRT for the full video and a pile of clips cut from it. Drop the SRT, then paste the clip times or load the EDL or XML your editor exports, and get one subtitle file per clip, retimed to start at zero, in a single zip. A recut made of several pieces gets one SRT that follows the new timeline.
Timecode in EDLs often starts at 01:00:00:00; we set this for you when it does.

Questions
Where do I get an EDL or XML?
Premiere Pro: select the sequence, then File, Export, EDL (or Final Cut Pro XML). DaVinci Resolve: right-click the timeline, Timelines, Export, EDL or FCP 7 XML. Or just type the clip times, one clip per line, like "0:30-1:05 Pricing hook".
My EDL times start at 01:00:00:00. Is that a problem?
No. Editors and cameras often start timecode at one hour; we spot that and subtract it so the times line up with the SRT, which starts at zero. You can change the start if your master used a different one.
What happens to a subtitle that crosses a cut?
It is trimmed to the part inside the clip. Slivers shorter than about a tenth of a second are dropped so nothing flashes on screen.
"Each clip" or "one recut timeline"?
Each clip: every line or EDL event becomes its own file starting at 0:00. One recut: the pieces are joined in timeline order, for a Short or trailer built from several moments of the master.
