Trim a video
Drop a video, play to the first frame you want and press Start here, then do the same for the last. Keep that part, or cut it out of the middle. The result is rendered on your device to the exact frame with the sound in sync: no watermark, no upload.
How to use it
- Drop the videoMP4, MOV from a phone, or WebM.
- Mark the startPlay or scrub to the first frame you want and press Start here (or the I key).
- Mark the endThe same for the last frame (O key). Play the part to check it.
- ExportKeep that part, or everything except it. The file downloads when it is ready.
What you can download here
- Trimmed MP4H.264 and AAC in Chrome and Edge, cut on the exact frames you marked
- WebMin browsers that cannot make MP4
Example: cut a false start and a goodbye
- Start with
- A 2-minute phone clip with 8 seconds of setup at the start and a fumbled goodbye at the end.
- Do this
- Start here at 0:08.0, End here at 1:51.5, keep the part between them.
- You get
- A 1:43.5 MP4 that starts on the first word and ends on the last, sound in sync.
Check the first and last frame with Play the part before exporting: a cut a few frames late can clip a word.
Good to know
Times can be typed as well as set from the player: 1:05.250 means one minute, five and a quarter seconds. The bar under the player shows what you keep.

Questions
Does trimming lose quality?
The part you keep is re-encoded at a high bitrate so the cut lands on the exact frame you chose. Tools that copy without re-encoding can only cut on keyframes, which are often a second or more apart. For normal viewing you will not see a difference; for a master you will edit again, trim in your editor.
Can I remove a part from the middle?
Yes. Set the start and end around the part to remove and choose "everything except that part". The two pieces are joined with the sound in sync.
Which files can I trim?
Anything your browser plays: MP4 (H.264), MOV from phones, WebM. You get an MP4 in Chrome and Edge, or a WebM in browsers that cannot make MP4.
Is there a length or size limit?
No account or watermark limit. Your computer does the work, so the limit is its memory: phone clips and videos of several minutes are quick. Videos larger than 1920 pixels on the long side come out at 1920 (1080p).
