Loop part of a video

Paste a YouTube link or drop a video or song. Mark where the part starts and ends, slow it down to learn a dance, a riff, a line or a move, add a pause between repeats, and step through it frame by frame. Frames from your own files save as PNG. Files play on your device and are never uploaded.

Questions

How do I loop part of a YouTube video?

Paste the link, play to where the part starts and press Start here, then play to where it ends and press End here. It repeats until you untick Repeat. You can also type the times, such as 1:05.5, or press I and O while it plays.

Does slowing down change the pitch?

No. From 0.25× to 2×, YouTube's player and your browser both keep voices and music at their own pitch, so a song slowed to half speed stays in the same key.

Can I share a loop?

For a YouTube video, Copy a link to this loop gives a link that opens the same video with the same start, end and speed. Loops on your own files stay on your device.

Why can't I save a frame from a YouTube video?

YouTube's player is YouTube's own page inside this one, and browsers don't let one site read another site's picture. Drop your own copy of the video to save frames, or use the thumbnail frame picker to find its sharpest ones.

Why won't a video play here?

Some owners switch off playing their videos outside YouTube, and private or removed videos don't play anywhere. The page says which it is. For your own videos, drop the file instead.
